Letter: Choose upbeat, visionary

By Den Mark Wichar, VANCOUVER

This glass-half-empty guy had been feeling predictably down about the presidential year. Now, with Kamala Harris and Tim Walz, that glass is overflowing.

Democratic and Republican tickets could not be more different. Harris and Walz are upbeat, visionary and specific. The opposing two merely offer weird insults.

The opposition should try to make sense. It would be helpful to have genuine intelligent dialogue. Republicans can do better, but it’s not happening. Maybe next time.

Elections are about choice. This year, analogously, we can choose pure water, not toxic. Every glass can be overflowing with cool, clear water being offered to us. We can. We must.

We encourage readers to express their views about public issues. Letters to the editor are subject to editing for brevity and clarity. Limit letters to 200 words (100 words if endorsing or opposing a political candidate or ballot measure) and allow 30 days between submissions. Send Us a Letter
