Clark County sheriff’s detectives are investigating a shooting Sunday evening at a Hazel Dell retail center. Investigators have not learned of any injuries, according to the agency.

Deputies responded about 6:15 p.m. to the shopping center in the 7900 block of Northeast Sixth Avenue. Multiple callers reported that two vehicles exchanged gunfire before both drove away. Callers reported between 10 and 12 shots, according to a sheriff’s office news release.

Witnesses said someone in a white Chrysler sedan shot several times at an occupied dark-colored Volkswagen SUV before driving away, according to the sheriff’s office.

When deputies arrived, they couldn’t find any suspects or victims. They located several spent shell casings in the parking lot. Investigators later learned someone in the Volkswagen SUV appeared to have shot at the Chrysler as well, according to the sheriff’s office.

Sometime later, a victim called 911 to report that as they were leaving a nearby parking lot, their Range Rover was struck by a bullet. Deputies saw a bullet mark in the driver’s door of the vehicle. No one in the Range Rover was injured, the news release states.

Investigators notified area hospitals in case any patients arrived with apparent gunshot wounds, but deputies have not received reports of any injuries, the agency said.

The Tactical Detective Unit is continuing to investigate. The sheriff’s office said it will release an update when more information is available.
