Clark County Fire District 6 is warning Vancouver residents that a group of scammers is going door to door, impersonating fire officials, and offering to “test” fire extinguishers for $25.

The fire district said this is not a service it offers and that the agency doesn’t contract with any private companies for any such services.

“This is a scam. We do not hire private companies for this service. A further tip off that something is fishy? Their contact information is in Pakistan,” states a Wednesday post from the district on Facebook.

County officials advise people to call the nonemergency dispatch line — 311 — to confirm the legitimacy of any similar offers for service or action from supposed law enforcement officials.
