Eight Clark County high school football players took advantage Wednesday of the start of the early signing period to solidify their commitment to Division 1 college football program.
Boise State landing two local standouts — Gavin Packer of Skyview and Josiah Alanis of Evergreen.
Alanis, a 6-foot-1, 178-pound defensive back, was listed as the top safety and No. 8 overall recruit from the state of Washington.
Packer is a 5-10, 172-pound receiver who ranks as the No. 5 recruit in Washington by On3. The 4A Greater St. Helens League co-offensive player of the year tallied 2,975 all-purpose yards and 32 touchdowns in 27 career games for Skyview.
Luke Webb of Camas signed with Washington State. After three seasons for JSerra in San Juan Capistrano, Calif., Webb tallied 65 tackles and 16 tackles for loss this past season at Camas, helping the Papermakers to the 4A state title game.
“(Webb) is an elite-style player, a little like Bobby Terrell,” WSU coach Jake Dickert said, comparing Webb to the current Cougar edge rusher.
Juan Pasillas-Stanton of Mountain View, a 6-3, 315-pound offensive lineman, signed with Portland State.
“Juan was one of our first commits to the class of ’25, and it’s great to have a local guy,” Portland State’s coaching staff remarked. “He is a strong physical player up front who can play center or guard.”
Skyview’s Noah Thomas, a 6-5, 270-pound offensive lineman, signed with Oregon State. Thomas was one of three offensive linemen added by the Beavers in their 18-player class.
Washougal’s Harrison DeShazer, a 6-5, 230-pound defensive lineman, was one of 19 announced signees for Idaho on Wednesday.
Two other local players signed with service academies.
