Merry and bright

Metropolitan Performing Arts presents Irving Berlin’s “White Christmas,” opening Friday at 6403 E. Mill Plain Blvd., Vancouver. The score features holiday standards including “Blue Skies,” “I Love a Piano,” “How Deep Is the Ocean” and “White Christmas.” Showtimes are 7 p.m. Friday as well as Dec. 12, 13 and 20; 6 p.m. Saturday and Dec. 14; and 2 p.m. Sunday, as well as Dec. 15 and 21. General admission is $25. Students, seniors and military are $16. On Pride Night, Dec. 12, $1 of every ticket goes to a local Pride organization. Get tickets at metropolitanperformingarts.org.

In the frosty air

Get To-Gather Farm, 1913 S.E. 303rd Ave., Washougal, will host Winter Festivities from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Dec. 7. Take a hayride to see Santa Claus for photographs, chestnuts roasted on an open fire, s’mores, hot cocoa and treats sold by Camas-based Morenita. Photo packages begin at $21, including the hayride. Bah humbug

Magenta Theater presents “Christmas Carol: A Ghost Story,” opening Friday at 1108 Main St., Vancouver. The play is an adaptation of Charles Dickens’ tale, reimagined with a fresh perspective on this classic Christmas story. Attendees should bring food donations for the FISH Westside Food Pantry. Performances are 7:30 p.m. Friday and Saturday as well as Dec. 12-14 and 19-21. Matinees are 2 p.m. Sunday and Dec. 15 and 22. Tickets are $25 in advance at magentatheater.com or $28 at the door.

Glad tidings

Touch of Class Chorale presents its holiday concert, “A Season of Hope,” featuring traditional carols and contemporary songs from Latvia, France, Spain, Italy, Poland and the U.S. Performances are 7 p.m. Dec. 6 at East Woods Presbyterian Church, 16210 N.E. 20th St., Vancouver; 2 p.m. Dec. 7 at Mill Plain United Methodist Church, 15804 S.E. Mill Plain Blvd., Vancouver; and 3 p.m. Dec. 15 at Unitarian Universalist Church of Vancouver, 4505 E. 18th St., Vancouver. Holidays on track

Take a train to visit Santa with the Chelatchie Prairie Railroad’s Christmas Specials. The 1941 ALCO S2 diesel locomotive departs at 9:30 a.m., noon and 2:30 p.m. Saturday and Sunday as well as Dec. 14-15, 20 and 22 from the station in Yacolt, 207 N. Railroad Ave. See views of the Lewis River then stop at Moulton Station for warm cider, cocoa and coffee. Santa will have a gift for each child. Ugly Christmas sweaters are encouraged.
