Letter: Council shows favoritism

If anyone is wondering why the Clark County Council had a reconsideration public hearing on the request by the Zimmerlys to convert a private road that serves several homes and the Zimmerly mine to a public road, Gary Medvigy answered that question during public comment, when he personally thanked Dennis Zimmerly for coming in person.

But there were no warm thanks for the 23 people who showed up and endured 4½ hours to tell the county, again, why not to convert this road, and to tell the council about the long-running issues with the Zimmerly mine operation. No thanks for these people who waited through two other public hearings to speak.

Medvigy claimed there was new information to justify this reconsideration. At the end of the hearing, even he had to admit that new information was a “red herring.”

Clearly, Zimmerly matters more to Medvigy than the rest of his constituents.
