Firefighters found a man dead in a house fire early Saturday morning in Vancouver’s Minnehaha neighborhood.

The Vancouver Fire Department responded at 1:36 a.m. Saturday to flames shooting from two sides of a one-story home in the 3200 block of Northeast May Street, according to a news release from the agency.

A downed power line near the home created an electrical hazard and prevented fire trucks from parking in front of the house. Firefighters extinguished the fire using multiple hose lines. When they searched the house, they found a man dead inside, according to the news release.

The Clark County Fire Marshal’s Office is investigating.
