Vancouver council OKs Van Mall mixed-use development plan; food cart pod, taproom, assisted living facility to be built in phases

Proposal also includes ground floor commercial space

The Vancouver City Council approved a mixed-use master plan last week for a long-awaited food cart pod in the Van Mall neighborhood, as well as an adjoining assisted living facility.

The master plan, proposed by Portland-based BAMA Architecture & Design, lays the groundwork for a 14-stall food cart pod with a taproom building, as well as a 49-bed assisted living facility with ground floor commercial space, according to city documents.
