Boys basketball roundup: Ridgefield tops W.F. West, 79-75 in quadruple overtime

It took not one, not two, not three, but four overtimes for the Ridgefield boys basketball team to earn a 79-75 road win at W.F. West in Chehalis on Friday.

One night after a 42-loss to Columbia River in 2A Greater St. Helens League play, the Spudders withstood W.F. West’s fourth-quarter comeback to force overtime by outscoring Ridgefield 16-6 in the final 8 minutes.

After being held to 3 second-half points, Jamison McCann had 8 in the combined four, 4-minute overtimes to pour in a game-high 28 points. Drew Krsul added 22, including two of his six 3-pointers in the game in the overtimes. Henry Wikstrom (15 points) and Jack Hughes (12) also scored in double figures for the Spudders.

Grady Westland had 26 to lead the Bearcats.

Ridgefield led 36-24 at halftime.

KING’S WAY CHRISTIAN 74, DAMASCUS CHRISTIAN (Ore.) 19 — The Knights outscored visiting Damascus Christian 23-2 in the third quarter while holding the visitors to 4 second-half points in their non-league win at home.

Jackson Lovato’s 16 points paced King’s Way, which also got 11 from Kaulin Butcher.

HERITAGE 66, BATTLE GROUND 54 — The Timberwolves pulled away for the win over the 4A Tigers behind a 21-point fourth-quarter performances. Tyrell Cash led Heritage with a game-high 18 points, followed by Jackson Graham (12) and Jose Zacarias (11).

James GIll led Battle Ground with 13 points.

CAMAS 77, MOUNTAIN VIEW 57 — The Papermakers erupted for a 30-point first quarter on their way to a 20-point road victory over the Thunder.

Jace VanVoorhis’ 21 points and 17 apiece by Ethan Harris and Channing Nesland paced Camas.

Malcolm Witherspoon led Mountain View with 18 points.
