Firefighters rescued three cats and two dogs from a house fire Thursday afternoon in the Ogden neighborhood of Vancouver, according to the city’s fire department.
Neighbors called 911 about 3:30 p.m. to report the house fire in the 2700 Block of Northeast Littler Way when they saw smoke and heard fire alarms coming from the house.
A bystander tried to see if anyone was home.
The first firefighters on scene were able to quickly put out the kitchen fire.
While searching the home, firefighters found three kenneled dogs and two cats.
The residents, who had been alerted to the fire, arrived home just as firefighters were carrying the pets out of the house, according to the Vancouver Fire Department.
Six residents were displaced, but no one was injured.
The Vancouver Fire Marshal’s Office is investigating.
