EAST MILL PLAIN – Members of the Fort Vancouver Rose Society held their annual meeting Dec. 5 at The Old Spaghetti Factory in Vancouver. After dinner, they focused on the evening’s events. FVRS Consulting Rosarian Co-Member-at-Large Jim Swenson installed the 2025 officers and members-at-large, which include Kathleen Fry as president, Carol Adams as first vice president, Mary Benson and Michael Giddings as co-second vice presidents, Maggie Mikalatos as treasurer, Jan DeWeese as secretary and members-at-large David Goggin, Wendy Tilley, Louis Rossetto and Jim Swenson. Sally and Louis Rossetto remain on the board as immediate past co-presidents. Gene Fults and Maureen McGoldrick shared the honor of 2025 FVRS Volunteer of the Year. And, everyone gave a “thumbs up” to the 2025 Rose Show theme — 200 Years of Roses at The Fort — announced for the first time to the membership by show co-chairs Julie Goggin and Sally Rossetto. A program, “The Yellow Rose of Texas,” was then presented by society members Detra and Jim Swenson.
