Prep roundup: Spudder wrestlers win four divisions as Ridgefield claims team title at La Center Wildcat Invitation

Zayne Martin, Lance Draper, Nolan Carney and Eddie Chamberlain claimed titles to lead Ridgefield to the team championship at the La Center Wildcat Invite boys wrestling tournament.

The Spudders earned 211.5 points to easily outdistance runner-up La Center (156.5) for the team title.

Martin earned a 9-7 win over Aidan Deeney of Columbia River to capture the 113-pound division title.

Draper earned his second tournament title in as many weeks, beating Jett Johnson of La Center 10-2 in the 144-pound division.

Carney won by fall over Kingston Case of Hoquiam in the 150-pound final, and Chamberlain beat Tyson Grove of La Center 11-7 for the 285-pound title.

La Center picked up wins from Hunter Shirley (106) and Isaac Chromey (175).

Other champions included: Charlie Jones (120) and Aimen Flemens (165) of Mark Morris, Kalama’s Harrison Suzara (132) and Ivan Bailey (138), Cyrus Fausette-Sadri of Evergreen (157) and Garrett Lees (215) of Washougal.

BATTLE GROUND SECOND IN CENTRALIA — Zackery Motzkus (138), Andrew Gray (144), Isaiah Rogers (157) and Emet Ordway (215) earned titles to lead the Battle Ground boys to a runner-up finish at the Centralia Tiger Classic.

The Tigers were edged out by River Ridge 177.5-171.5 for the team title.

PRAIRIE SECOND IN FIFE — Tommie Vick won the 132-pound division title and James Stager won a 126 pounds to lead Prairie to a runner-up finish at the Larry Brown Invitational in Fife.

Aberdeen edged out the Falcons 159.5-152.5 for the team title.

CAMAS THIRD IN PUYALLUP — Micah Bennett (106) and Simon Jarrell (175) won individual titles as the Camas boys placed third in the team standings at the Wilfong Classic in Puyallup.

DANYLYUK SHINES AT SPRINT PENTATHLON — Vladyslav Danylyuk was the top point-scorer, tallying 93 points at the Sprint Pentathlon meet at Mark Morris.

Danyluk outscored Owen Robertson (88) and Owen Yam (86) for top honors.

Danylyuk won the 25 butterfly, 100 freestyle and 25 backstroke.

Robertson earned wins in the 25 breaststroke and 100 freestyle. Alan Xie of Camas also was a dual-event winner, taking the 25 individual medley and 50 freestyle.

Other winners included Yam (200 individual medley), Atali’I Seumalo of Camas (100 butterfly), Lincoln Swift of Ridgefield (25 freestyle), Ethan LeGrand of Camas (500 freestyle), Aarnav Krishan of Camas (100 backstroke) and Boston Pederson of Union (100 breaststroke).
