A 69-year-old Vancouver man has been identified as the person killed in a Dec. 6 house fire in northeast Vancouver, according to a Monday statement from the Clark County medical examiner.

Roger Bullinger died from the inhalation of combustible materials. His death was ruled an accident, the statement said.

Firefighters responded just after 2 a.m. to a fire in the 15100 block of Northeast 81st Way.

When crews arrived, they saw flames coming from the front of a one-story house. They attacked the fire and searched the house. They found Bullinger inside, unconscious and not breathing, according to the Vancouver Fire Department.

First responders attempted lifesaving medical procedures, but Bullinger was pronounced dead at the scene.

The fire department managed to get the fire under control. The Clark County Fire Marshal’s Office is investigating the cause.
