More snow is expected in the mountains on Friday and Saturday, and State Route 10 is closed outside of Cle Elum.

A winter weather advisory is in effect from 1 a.m. Friday through 4 p.m. Saturday in the Cascades, according to the National Weather Service.

Snowfall amounts could range from two to six inches from Friday to Saturday for Snoqualmie Pass, with more snow expected at higher elevations.

It’s a good idea to check pass conditions and travel cameras before hitting the road this time via the WSDOT website or app.

Bring a flashlight, food and water in your car in case of emergency. Slow down and use caution when traveling.

State Route 10 is closed outside of Cle Elum because of unstable slope conditions, according to the Washington State Department of Transportation.

The road closed Thursday afternoon in both directions between the junction of State Route 970 and the Thorp Highway. There’s no estimate on reopening.
