Kody Holcomb scored 14 points and Drew Hill added 12 points as Union’s first-quarter defense propelled the Titans to 55-38 win over Snohomish in the championship game Saturday of the Mountain View Holiday Invitational.
Union outscored Snohomish 13-4 in the first quarter to take control, then sealed the win with an 11-5 edge in the fourth quarter.
Pat Howe scored eight points for Union, Nick Burchett had seven and Noah Jones had six.
Clark County teams had a winning Saturday all around.
Evergreen switch opponents to avoid playing league rival Mountain View and beat Shelton 45-34 in the fifth-place game. Dez Daniel scored a game-high 22 points, 11 coming in the third quarter for Evergreen.
Columbia River won the third-place game 79-39 over Ridgefield, and Mountain View beat Benson of Portland 68-65 in the seventh-place game. Details from those games were not reported.
CAMAS 58, ADRIENNE NELSON 50 — Ethan Harris had a double-double of 21 points and 12 rebounds as the Papermakers won in the consolation round of the Les Schwab Invitational at Portland.
Harris led all scorers as he made 10 of 15 shots from the field. He also had four assists.
Jace VanVoorhis added 15 points, and Cade Washington scored 14 for Camas (5-2), which next plays Roosevelt of Portland at 2 p.m. Sunday at Portland State’s Stott Center.
JACKSON 77, PRAIRIE 76 (OT) — Malachi Patton scored a career-high 36 points for Prairie, but the Falcons fell a point short in overtime at the Mountlake Terrace Tournament.
Carson Morningstar also had a big game for the Falcons with 27 points. He and Patton combined for all the Falcons’ 11 points in overtime.
The game was close throughout with the score tied 32-32 at halftime and Jackson taking a 48-46 lead into the fourth quarter.
KALAMA 57, ELMA 53 (OT) — Drew Schlengen had 12 points, seven rebounds, four steals and four assists in the Chinooks first game after a week off.
