Taylor Takata had four hits, Luke Iverson doubled twice and the Ridgefield Raptors rapped 13 hits to beat Cowlitz 10-6 and take two of three games of a weekend series in Longview.

After losing four straight, Ridgefield (25-20) has won two in a row and leads the West Coast League’s South Division second-half standings at 15-4.

Takata scored three runs, the first of which gave Ridgefield a 3-0 lead in the top of the second.

Leading 4-2 after five innings, Ridgefield put the game away with two runs in the sixth and four in the seventh. Richard Tejada’s two-run single in the seventh put the Raptors ahead 10-2 and capped a 3 for 5 day at the plate for the USC player.

Iverson went 2 for 3 with two RBI as he raised his batting average to .303.

Justin Stransky and Hunter Katschke both improved their batting averages that rank among the top four in the West Coast League. Stransky (Fresno State) is hitting .355  after going 2 for 5 with two RBI Sunday. Katschke went 1 for 2 and drew four walks — he’s hitting .350 this season.
