The 67th annual Royal Oaks Invitational golf tournament opened on Friday at Royal Oaks Country Club in Vancouver and continues through the weekend.

Players will tee off from 7:30 a.m. through 2:20 p.m. for Saturday’s second round with the final round happening on Sunday. Tee times for that will be determined Saturday evening.

Admission is free for spectators.

The Royal Oaks Invitational invites some of the top amateur golfers in the area to compete in three divisions: championship, junior-senior and senior.

The overall gross champion this year will receive a $1,000 payout based on the new USGA regulations.

Woodland High grad Dane Huddleston, who just completed his freshman season on the Utah Valley golf team, had a big first round at Royal Oaks with a 7-under-par 65 to lead by four shots over Dylan Cramer.

William Snow of Vancouver is part of a three-way tie for second among all golfers at 2-under.

Mountain View High grad Graham Moody, who just completed his junior season at Wisconsin, is in a five-way tie for sixth overall at 1-under 71. In the championship division, Moody’s score has him tied for fourth. Spencer Moody is tied for sixth in the championship division with an even-par 72.

Former Portland Trail Blazers guard and University of Portland coach Terry Porter, playing in the senior division, shot a 16-over 88 in the first round.
