Washington Recreation and Park Association recently honored local people, parks and programs with awards at the 76th Annual Washington Recreation and Park Association Conference.

The Lasting Legacy Award honors recently retired professionals for outstanding service in the field of parks and recreation. It was awarded to Kelly Lund and Julie Hannon of Vancouver Parks, Recreation and Cultural Services.

The Outdoor Spaces award recognizes outstanding achievement in outdoor areas that have a recreational use component. It was awarded to CHAMPS at Marshall Park.

Woodland Public Schools recently announced the appointment of Taylor Adrian as the district’s new athletic director. Currently teaching physical education at Vancouver Public Schools, Adrian earned his administrative credentials and completed his administrative internship under an athletic director, fueling his desire to lead an athletic program. His coaching experience showcases his ability to develop successful programs and foster a positive team environment.
