WASHOUGAL—Elijah Franco ran for three touchdowns and had an interception return for a touchdown on defense as Washougal pulled away from Hockinson 35-20 at a rainy Fishback Stadium Friday.

Franco’s second touchdown run of the game tied the game 14-14 at the end of the first half after the rain caused a Hockinson snap in punt formation to go awry and be downed at the Hawk 23-yard line.

The Panthers scored 21 straight points in the second half to take control, highlighted by Franco’s 19-yard pick-6 that gave Washougal a 28-14 lead.

Hunter Miller added 109 all-purpose yards for Washougal.

Leniel Sutton had 109 all-purpose yards and a rushing touchdown to lead Hockinson.

Washougal (6-3, 5-2) finished in third place in the Greater St. Helens 2A league and will learn its Week 10 playoff seeding matchup Sunday. Hockinson (1-8, 1-6) saw its season come to an end.
