Prep football roundup: Kelso caps regular season with 42-0 win over Shelton

Aden Mintonye rushed for 173 yards and two touchdowns as Kelso wrapped up the regular season with a 42-0 win over Shelton in a 3A Greater St. Helens League game in Kelso.

Bryce Collins caught three passes for 64 yards and two touchdowns, and Bryar Iddings had a touchdown pass and a touchdown reception for the Hilanders, who led 42-0 at halftime.

UNION 30, BATTLE GROUND 14 — Adam Olson had a 63-yard touchdown run and a 19-yard touchdown reception as the Titan defense shutout Battle Ground in the second half.

Quentin Overholser threw touchdown passes to Owen Mereen and Boston Walker as Battle Ground took a 14-10 lead in the second quarter.

Union’s Canaan Moore hit the second of his three field goals just before halftime to cut the margin to 14-13.

Olson’s long touchdown run early in the third quarter put Union ahead, and that was all the Titans would need as the defense sealed the win.

KING’S WAY CHRISTIAN 47, FORT VANCOUVER 0 — Ryan Charlton rushed for 261 yards on 26 carries and scored five touchdowns to power the Knights to a Trico League win.

Asher Wyckoff had a 10-yard touchdown reception and Jace Barnes recovered a fumble for a touchdown.

CASTLE ROCK 14, KALAMA 12 — Kalama scored  a touchdown with 48 seconds left, but the Chinooks could not convert the two-point conversion, giving the Rockets the win.

Castle Rock’s win created a three-way tie for third place in the Trico League between Kalama, King’s Way Christian and Castle Rock — all 4-3. All three are headed to the Week 10 playoffs.

COLUMBIA-WHITE SALMON 42, STEVENSON 18 — Wongani Schlegel rushed for 283 yards on 38 carries and scored five touchdowns to lead the Bruins in a Gorge Rivalry win at Stevenson.
