LONGVIEW — The two people found dead in West Longview on Halloween night attacked each other and died of their wounds, according to the Cowlitz County Sheriff’s Office.

There are no other suspects in the slayings.

The sheriff’s office said in a Thursday statement that the married couple were on the verge of separating..

Chief Criminal Deputy Troy Brightbill said in the statement that investigators were unable to identify the primary aggressor.

Juan Antonio Alvarado Saenz, 38, and Cecilia Robles Ochoa, 39, were discovered on the floor in the kitchen area when deputies entered the home after a 6:05 p.m. report of a shooting.

Alvarado Saenz died from multiple stab wounds to the chest; Robles Ochoa died from stab and gunshot wounds, the Cowlitz County coroner’s office reported Wednesday.

One gun and one knife were recovered at the scene.

The gun was stolen from Alvarado Saenz’s employer. It was discovered missing after the deaths, according to the sheriff’s office’s Thursday statement.

The couple’s 11-year-old child was the only other person home during the attack.

Authorities say the 11-year-old was playing video games in another room using earbuds and didn’t witness the violence but did call 911 to report at least one parent had been shot.

Both deputies and Cowlitz 2 Fire & Rescue medics gave first aid at the scene, but the pair died in the home.
