How Clark County College Football Players Fared: Tobias Merriweather has touchdown in Cal debut

It’s a new era for both Tobias Merriweather and California football.

In his first game for the Golden Bears, Merriweather had six catches for 52 yards and a 2-yard touchdown in a 46-36 road win over Wake Forest on Friday. That helped California earn its first Atlantic Coast Conference victory.

Merriweather was a highly touted recruit out of Union High School who spent the last two seasons at Notre Dame. He started six games last season for the Irish before transferring to California.

Merriweather missed the season’s first eight games with an injury. A newly healthy receiving corps has given a boost to Cal (5-4, 1-4), which had lost four of its previous five games.

“It was great to have (Merriweather) and Kyion Graves in the rotation, throwing passes to them and getting back our chemistry,” Cal quarterback Fernando Mendoza said. “Those are two guys I’m going to get the ball to.”

Here’s how other collegiate football players from Clark County at four-year programs fared. (Blank signifies a bye week).
