Clark County sheriff’s detectives served search warrants Tuesday in connection with the slaying of a 78-year-old woman who was found dead last month in her west Hazel Dell home.

Investigators had not made any arrests as of Tuesday afternoon in the Oct. 8 homicide of Patricia Jimerfield, the sheriff’s office said.

The Clark County Medical Examiner’s Office said Jimerfield was strangled with a ligature.

Videos submitted to The Columbian showed police activity Tuesday morning at Jimerfield’s house, on the corner of Northwest 26th Avenue and 99th Street.

Deputies and Clark County Fire District 6 responded to a medical call at 9:41 p.m. Oct. 8 at Jimerfield’s home. They found the woman dead inside, according to a sheriff’s office news release. There were no signs of forced entry or burglary at the home.

The sheriff’s office said last month that Jimerfield had been notified by her bank the morning of her death that there were pending fraudulent charges on her account. Jimerfield discovered her wallet was missing and filed a fraud report with the sheriff’s office. Investigators are looking into the fraudulent charges.

The sheriff’s office’s Major Crime Unit is continuing to investigate.
