Letter: Disinformation swings election

Democrats have started pointing fingers at each other over their loss in the presidential election. They are wrong to do so. The real culprit is disinformation and misinformation. Remember Steve Bannon? Back in 2018, in an interview with Michael Lewis, Bannon said: “The Democrats don’t matter. The real opposition is the media. And the way to deal with them is to flood the zone with …”

So that’s what MAGA did. They flooded the zone with disinformation and misinformation. And now it’s too late. People who voted for MAGA candidates thought they were voting for reduced taxes, grocery and gas prices, and voting against “elites.” They were in fact voting for elites: a former president who went to Wharton and a vice president who went to Yale and worked as an investment banker. And when our new president gets his way, prices will go up, the deficit will explode, we’ll be in a serious recession and independent media will be unavailable.

America must get disinformation under control.
