The season is coming to a close for most college football teams, which can mean playing opportunities for some who hope to have larger roles in the future.

That was the case Saturday for several players from Clark County in Portland State’s 45-13 season-ending win over Northern Colorado.

Jacques Badalato-Birdsell, who led Camas High to the Class 4A state title in 2019, scored his first touchdown in a Vikings uniform. He had three carries for 30 yards, including a 10-yard scoring run.

Badalato-Birdsell finished his junior season with eight carries after transferring to Portland State from Nevada after last season.

Fyodor Henrichs-Tarasenkov, a kicker from Skyview, had one kickoff for 59 yards. The sophomore appeared in three games this season, making eight kickoffs.

Sophomore offensive lineman Hezephaniah Po Ching (Skyview) made his sixth appearance after missing last season with an injury.

Rob Silva (Camas) made his eighth appearance of the season, which has seen him before a regular backup option on the defensive tackle.

Freshman fullback Jalen Salavea (Skyview) made his first appearance for Portland State.

Meanwhile, senior running back Jalynnee McGee (Skyview) capped his career with six carries for 40 yards.

Starting tight end Tanner Beaman (Skyview) finished his season with three catches for a team-high 35 yards. The sophomore finished with 21 catches for 257 yards and had at least one catch in all 10 games in which he played.
