Letter: House is a mess

By Don Howard, Camas

Rep. Nancy Mace is obsessed about transgender Rep. Sarah McBride using the women’s bathroom at the U.S. Capitol. The South Carolina representative made such a scene over the situation that House Speaker Mike Johnson deemed preventing transgender people from bathroom use worthwhile, even though the Capitol has gender-neutral bathrooms.

Johnson’s “do nothing” House of Representatives has accomplished less than any other House. It will be intriguing to observe how Johnson and Mace set up bathroom check stations to decipher who’s who in order to enforce the new rule that denies transgender people bathroom use.

The “clown car” speeds down the highway.
