Early-season snow continues to pile up on Mount Hood, creating more opportunities for skiers and snowboarders.

Mt. Hood Meadows opened for daily operations on Nov. 21 and conditions will allow the resort to begin night skiing a week earlier than planned.

The resort was reporting 51-inch base and seven lifts — Cascade Express, Hood River Express, Mt. Hood Express, Shooting Star Express, Vista Express, Easy Rider and Buttercup — opened at 8:55 a.m. Friday, along with the Ballroom Carpet.

Hard-pack conditions exist, and high temperatures were expected in the mid 30s over the Thanksgiving weekend.

Night skiing will begin Friday, Dec. 13 — six days earlier than the projected Dec. 19 opening. Night skiing is offered at Meadows Wednesdays through Sundays.

Meadows is also offering a Black Friday Weekend Sale that is only available in-person at the resorts Meadows PDX store in downtown Portland.

Visitors to Meadows PDX from Nov. 29 to Dec. 1 can get two mid-week lift tickets for $99. The lift tickets are valid every Monday through Friday except Dec. 23 through Jan. 3 and the MLK Day (Jan. 20) and President’s Day (Feb. 17) holiday.

The deal is only available by visiting Meadows PDX and is not available online or at the resort. Multiple lift ticket two-packs can be purchased.

Bruno’s lift is temporarily out of service as the resort awaits a repair part. Bruno’s Run is fully groomed with a handle tow as an interim solution. Summit Pass Ski Area is also expected to open soon.

Timberline is offering a cyber sale through Monday, Dec. 2 for three weekday lift tickets for $179, valid Monday through Friday except holidays and peak dates. The sale is available at timberlinelodge.com.

Mt. Hood Skibowl opened its Snow Tube Park, located in Skibowl east, on Friday. Tubing will be available Nov. 29 to Dec. 1 with day tubing from 10:30 a.m. to 5:15 p.m. and night tubing from 5:30 to 10:30 p.m.
