CAMAS — A Sept. 17 fundraiser called Empty Bowls Camas raised $13,500 for the food pantry at Interfaith Treasure House.

Attendees each chose a handmade ceramic bowl made by a local artist at Norris Art Studio in Camas. Five local restaurants provided delicious soups for event-goers to sample. Featured restaurants were Feast@316, Natalia’s Café, Nuestra Mesa, Tommy O’s and Grains of Wrath.

The sold-out event was sponsored by Church of the Good Shepherd, Norris Art Studio & Gallery, HAPO Community Credit Union, the Tompkins family, St. Clair Ceramics, Pharmacy Safeguard, Jazzercise Camas, ASW Global Consulting and the Tipsy Chicks.

Three larger bowls were created at Norris Art Studio and were part of a raffle. Two of the bowls were painted with scenes of Camas by Anna Norris.
