Feathers and fiddles

The BirdFest & Bluegrass Festival is Saturday in Ridgefield. The festival’s 25th anniversary celebration is 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. on the Ridgefield Waterfront, 101 Mill St. Visitors should park at the Port of Ridgefield and take a wheelchair-accessible C-Tran shuttle to downtown and the Carty Unit. Shuttle service ends at 2 p.m. Events include music, vendors, self-guided walks and tours and talks about a variety of topics. For a complete schedule of events, visit ridgefieldfriends.org/birdfest-bluegrass/.

The big apple

The Old Apple Tree Festival, 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday at Old Apple Tree Park, 112 Columbia Way in Vancouver, is a celebration of the Northwest’s oldest apple tree, planted at Fort Vancouver in 1826. The festival features activities for children, food for sale, apple tastings and sales, live music, cider pressing and walking tours of Fort Vancouver Village and the Vancouver Land Bridge. Urban Forestry will give away cuttings from the Old Apple Tree. Questions? Email urbanforestry@cityofvancouver.us.

Oldies but goodies

Browse the wares at the Vintage and Antique Flea Market, 6 to 8 p.m. Friday and 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday, at the 114-year-old Valiant Ballroom, 109 W. Ninth St., Vancouver. Guests can also enter the ballroom through the “Narnia Wardrobe” at Most Everything Vintage, 815 Washington St., Vancouver. Shoppers will find vintage and antique treasures, clothing from the 1950s to 2000s, a Pendleton pop-up, band T-shirts, accessories, home decor and artisan crafts. Admission is free. Hip to be square

Friends of the Vancouver Community Library will host the Art4Art fundraiser from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. Friday in the Columbia Room of the Vancouver Community Library, 901 C St. The event includes an art sale, refreshments from Foode Catering and live jazz by students from the Vancouver School of Arts and Academics, plus a collaborative community art project. Play in the dirt

The Nutter Foundation presents Dozer Day, 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday and Sunday at the Clark County Event Center at the Fairgrounds, 17402 N.E. Delfel Road, Ridgefield.
