Letter: Save the Republican Party

By Tom Lawrence, Vancouver
Published: October 9, 2024, 6:00am

Project 2025 has received a great deal of publicity since it is a 920-page document on dismantling our government so a select few can rule. It was developed by members of the Trump cult (which he denies, of course). But you probably haven’t heard much about Projects 2024 and 2026. These are also known as the Republican Restoration Acts. They are a half-page document that describes how to bring the Republican Party back to true Republicans.

Simply: “Vote for the candidate that has ethics.” These would be the candidates that do not have Trump backing, never served in any Trump positions and never repeated any Trump lies. Locally, this should cancel your vote for Joe Kent and Brad Benton. It will be difficult for a lifelong Republican to vote for a Democrat, but you can also show your support of the Republican Party by not voting for a Trumper. It will take only two voting cycles (2024 and 2026) to eliminate the stain on the party.

We encourage readers to express their views about public issues. Letters to the editor are subject to editing for brevity and clarity. Limit letters to 200 words (100 words if endorsing or opposing a political candidate or ballot measure) and allow 30 days between submissions. Send Us a Letter
