La Center keeps rolling up points in 58-6 win over Stevenson

LA CENTER – Senior quarterback Wyatt Eiesland rushed for three touchdowns and senior running back Isaac Chromey added two more scores in La Center’s 58-6 win over Stevenson.

It was the second week in a row the Wildcats put up 58 points in Class 1A Trico League play.

The third-ranked Wildcats (7-0, 5-0) put the ball in the end zone on their first four offensive possessions mainly on runs by Chromey and Eiesland who rushed for 143 and 73 yards respectively. Nine different La Center ballcarriers amassed a total of 306 yards rushing in the win,

Defensively, La Center was up to the task as well, allowing just 78 yards in total offense for the game and outgained Stevenson (2-5, 1-4) 222-48 in the first half. The Bulldogs gained 81 yards on two rushes, one of which was a 38-yard touchdown run by sophomore quarterback Jude Travinski in the fourth quarter for Stevenson’s only score.

Junior linebacker Mason Klein added a 15-yard interception return for a touchdown and Parker McKinney caught a 22-yard touchdown pass for the Wildcats, who travel to Kalama to face the Chinooks next week.

Stevenson plays host to the No. 2 ranked team in the state, Seton Catholic, next week. The Cougars and the Wildcats are tied for first in the 1A Trico League.
