Elijah Andersen rushed for four touchdowns and threw for three more as Woodland beat Hudson’s Bay 49-15 on Friday at Kiggins Bowl.

Woodland cruised to its fifth consecutive win and remained unbeaten in 2A Greater St. Helens League play. The Beavers (5-2, 5-0) scored the game’s first 35 points.

Andersen had three touchdown runs in the first quarter, including a 45-yarder that put Woodland ahead 21. The senior and reigning 2A GSHL MVP finished with 150 yards on just nine carries.

Two of Andersen’s touchdown passes went to Chase Hall, who reeled in scoring catches of 38 and 19 yards. Andersen completed 12 of 17 passes for 157 yards.

Woodland’s defense turned in another standout performance. After allowing 15 points or less in four of the last five games, the Beavers are in contention to repeat as league champs.

“We’ve got to set the tone early on,” senior lineman Jeremiah Lord said. “We try to put our foot on the gas.”

After the season started with two non-league losses, Woodland’s confidence has consistently grown.

“Whether it’s big jumps or little jumps, we’re seeing improvement all together,” senior lineman Charles Elkinton said.

Hudson’s Bay (0-7, 0-5) got a 53-yard touchdown run from A.J. Hatton late in the first half. Michael Stump added a 5-yard TD run in the fourth quarter.
