Letter: Perez defends our values

I’m voting to send Marie Gluesenkamp Perez back to Congress. She is a no-nonsense, “one-of-us” representative. A small business owner from the area, Marie understands our issues.

I am less confident in Joe Kent. When asked about Project 2025 (“Project 2025 unpopular in Washington’s 3rd …” The Columbian, Sept. 5), the radical and highly unpopular policy roadmap for a future Trump presidency, Kent said there are hundreds of think tanks that have “something like Project 2025 they are trying to sell to the government. … They want the government to hire their people in the next administration.”

Faced with Project 2025’s unpopularity, even Trump has tried to distance himself from it. The problem? A whole host of the 900-page document authors held key positions in his previous administration.

Project 2025’s values do not represent the people of Southwest Washington. I’m voting for someone who upholds our values.
