Scary cider

Here’s a seasonal twofer: You can watch cider pressing and learn to make a scarecrow from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. today at Pomeroy Farm, 20902 N.E. Lucia Falls Road, Yacolt. Longtime “Pumpkin Lane” expert Martha Todd will lead a workshop on scarecrow design and assembly. Enjoy an apple cider pressing demonstration and sample the delicious results. The cost is $30 per person. Learn more at pomeroyfarm.org.

Nice nature

Go on a nature walk from 5:30 to 7 p.m. today at Lacamas Regional Park with naturalist Rebecca Lexa. Meet at the parking lot at 3344 N.E. Everett St., Camas, and join an informative tour. No science background necessary. Intended for adults only (Lexa offers other tours for all ages). Presented by the Camas Public Library. Free but registration is required at CamasPL.org/naturewalk.

Masked moms

Think you know Mom? Mom Connections Vancouver presents its second annual “Mom Prom: Midnight Masquerade” — which isn’t even at midnight. The event is 7 to 11 p.m. Saturday at the Elks Lodge, 11605 S.E. McGillivray Blvd., Vancouver. Masks and costumes are encouraged. Enjoy music with DJ Dirty Harry, a silent auction, cash (or credit) bar, appetizers and desserts. Tickets are $30 each or $50 per couple, plus fees. Adults only, though you don’t need to be a mom. Purchase tickets at https://bit.ly/47iyJ39.

Starbird dogs

Enjoy an afternoon of canine comedy as recent startup troupe Starbird Theatre offers a pair of one-act plays about pooches: “The Tale that Wagged the Dog” by Tim Kelly and “Doggies” by Jean McConnell. The show includes dog-themed poems and monologues. Performances are set for 3 and 7 p.m. Saturday at Washington Grange No. 82, 7701 N.E. Ward Road. Tickets are $20. More information at starbirdtheatre.com.

Choir’s choir

Professional choral directors know a thing or two about beautiful singing. So you can count on Chor Anno, a choir composed largely of choral directors, singing coaches and music teachers from Washington and Oregon schools and colleges, to deliver a pretty special sound. Chor Anno will present a concert 2 p.m. Sunday at Holy Redeemer Catholic Church, 17010 N.E. Ninth St., Vancouver. Selections will include everything from classical to gospel to pop. Admission is a suggested donation of $20, but all are welcome. Learn more at choranno.org.
