Heritage senior Haley Gunderson won three events to take top individual honors at the 14th annual Girls Sprint Pentathlon swim meet on Saturday at Mark Morris High School.

Gunderson won the 50 yard freestyle, 25 individual medley and the 100 backstroke. That gave her 90 points in the unique competition with races as short as 25 yards.

Hockinson sophomore Georgina Romero finished second with 88 points. She won the 25 breastroke, the 100 butterfly and finished third in the 25 backstroke and 50 freestyle.

Ridgefield senior Becky Yamada also won two events — the 25 backstroke and 100 breastroke. She also placed second in the 25 freestyle and finished third in the individual rankings with 85 points.

Camas won the team competition with 457.5 points, more than double that of the second-place team. Eighteen schools from across Southwest Washington competed.
