Vancouver police arrested a man Saturday suspected of assaulting a woman and exposing himself at Clark College two days earlier.

Nolen Percy Sanchez was being held Sunday in lieu of $1,325 bail in the Clark County Jail on suspicion of fourth-degree assault and indecent exposure. His age was not available.

Clark College security officers told police shortly after 1 p.m. Thursday that a 17-year-old student reported a man followed her and asked questions about her age and made comments that made her feel uncomfortable and scared, police said.

Security officers checked campus video and saw a man matching the suspect’s description sitting in a public area on campus and apparently masturbating.

At about 4:30 p.m., police were sent to the campus a second time and told by security officers the man was back on campus and had reportedly slapped a woman on the backside, according to police.

Before police arrived, security officers had found the man in a bathroom. He pushed passed the security officers and ran from the campus. Security officers followed the man toward downtown Vancouver and confirmed he was the same man they saw on the video.

Police did not find the man that afternoon, but were able to identify a suspect the following day. On Saturday, police found Sanchez and arrested him.
