Pokemon Go’s Vancouver Arena brings players out on the town — and from out of town

Community Day, other events draw hundreds of gamers for virtual reality fun, real-world business benefits

Hundreds of men, women and children descended on Fort Vancouver National Historic Site on March 22 to traverse its trails and sidewalks on a glorious, rain-free afternoon— all while staring at their phones.

They came for community. They came to collect buttons. They came to play Pokemon Go.

John Park began hosting monthly events in Vancouver for Pokemon Go players in 2017.
