Scott Johnson's sacrifice fly beats Rancho Buena Vista of California

Scott Johnson delivered a sacrifice fly to score Charlie Barr to complete a seven-run bottom of the seventh for Camas as the Papermakers rallied to beat Rancho Buena Vista of Vista, Calif., 9-8 in the San Diego Lions Baseball Tournament on Tuesday.

The Longhorns scored three runs in the sixth and three more in the seventh to open up an 8-2 lead.

But Johnson got the Camas rallied an RBI triple to score Jared Forner, who led off the inning with a walk.

Dawson Sheffield’s single to left scored Johnson, cutting the deficit to 8-4.

After another single and a walk loaded the bases, Anthony Forner’s RBI single made it 8-5.

Matt Manjooran’s sacrifice fly to center got another run home, making it 8-6.

Two hit batters got Camas within 8-7, and Jared Forner’s second walk of the inning tied the game.

Johnson’s fly ball to center won the game.

Cade Lukens and Anthony Former both went 2 for 3 with Manjooran was 2-4.

Stars of the day

Owen Erickson, Castle Rock baseball, singled home Jack Kerker with the go-ahead run in the sixth inning as the Rockets beat Naselle 3-2.

Makenzie Henthorn, Mark Morris softball, went 2 for 2 with a home run and six RBI and pitched three hitless innings with eight strikeouts in a 19-4 win over Clatskanie (Ore.).
