Tava Whitlow went 3 for 3 and Faith Smith was solid in the pitcher’s circle as Ridgefield softball beat Battle Ground 9-4 on Monday.
Ten different batters collected base hits as the Spudders had 15 for the game. Abbey Hite, Ashlynn Bredemeyer and Madison Bruguier each had two hits as Ridgefield improved to 5-1 this season.
Smith worked around trouble, stranding six baserunners and allowing one run in the first four innings. She allowed eight hits, two walks and struck out six over seven innings.
Candice Torgerson went 2 for 4 including a two-RBI double as Battle Ground fell to 4-3. Paige Vuylsteke also went 2 for 4 and scored two runs.
