Fort Vancouver High School received a $10,000 grant from the Trail Blazers Foundation.
The foundation’s Take It To The Court for Education school grant program awarded 13 schools in 12 counties throughout Oregon and Southwest Washington a total of $100,000. The grants support a variety of academic, arts, athletic and community programs.
Fort Vancouver’s grant will go toward its Latino Leadership Northwest Unidos Student Leadership Initiative in partnership with MEChA, an activist and community service club, and other student-led organizations, according to the Trail Blazers’ news release.
Representatives from the different awarded schools celebrated Sunday before the Trail Blazers game and were recognized during halftime, according to the news release.
