Columbia River girls tennis, the reigning 2A state champion, remained undefeated in dual matches this season with a 5-1 win over Prairie on Monday.
River’s top singles player Jenny Serebriakova earned a 6-2, 6-2 victory over Prairie’s Elsa Bice, who is the reigning 3A district champion.
Serebriakova placed fourth in last year’s 2A state tournament.
Meanwhile, the Rapids No. 1 doubles team of Sydney Dreves and Emma Lungwitz cruised to a 6-0, 6-0 victory.
Dreves paired with Annie Morgan on last year’s doubles team that placed second in state. The senior played Monday with Lungwitz, who placed seventh in state in singles last year.
Woodland softball edges Ridgefield, 8-7
Ainsley Utter doubled home the tying and winning runs with one out in the bottom of the seventh as Woodland softball edged Ridgefield 8-7 on Monday.
The win gave Woodland (6-3, 3-1) sole possession of second place in the 2A Greater St. Helens League.
Emma Barrow had two hits, including a single in Woodland’s four-run third inning as the Beavers took a 6-3 lead.
But Ridgefield (7-2, 2-2) responded with two runs in both the fourth and fifth innings. Bailey Wolkski had a two-run triple in the fourth, one of her three hits on the day.
Hudson’s baseball rallies past Woodland in 7th
Gabe Valencia doubled home the winning run to a cap a four-run bottom of the seventh as Hudson’s Bay baseball beat Woodland 10-9.
With two outs, Chris Castro came through with a two-run single one batter earlier.
Woodland took a 9-6 lead after scoring five runs in the top of the seventh.
Union baseball wins pitcher’s duel
Rylan Howe went the distance as Union baseball edged Skyview 1-0 despite the Titans having just one base hit.
Parker Christian doubled to lead off the second inning. He advanced to third on a sacrifice bunt by Howe and scored on Clayton Holder’s sacrifice fly.
Howe allowed just three hits, striking out four and walking two.
Jacob Griffith had five strikeouts in a complete-game effort for Skyview.

- Jameson McNeley, Camas softball, went 2 for 2 with a home run and three RBI in a 14-1 win over Evergreen.
- Haylee Delano, Columbia River softball, went 3 for 3 with two RBI and pitched three shutout innings in a 15-0 win over R.A. Long.
- Charlotte Newton, Hockinson softball, went 2 for 4 with two triples and four RBI in a 23-13 win over Washougal.
- Elliot Hegdahl, Kelso baseball, went 3 for 4 with a triple and three RBI in a 6-1 win over Evergreen.
- Riley Young, R.A. Long baseball, allowed just three hits and struck out nine in a complete-game effort in a 2-1 win over Washougal.
- Luke Jenisch, Columbia River baseball, went 3 for 3 and pitched a perfect top of the seventh to earn the win as the Rapids walked off Ridgefield 3-2.
- Deker Bartell, Mark Morris baseball, went 2 for 4 with two RBI and a double in a 6-4 win over Hockinson. He was also the winning pitcher, allowing three hits and striking out seven over five innings.
- Shayne Quarles, Fort Vancouver baseball, went 3 for 3 with a triple, a double and two RBI in a 18-16 win over Onalaska in the first game of a doubleheader.
- Sebastian De La Cruz, Fort Vancouver baseball, went 3 for 3 with a home run, a triple and three RBI as the Trappers beat Onalaska 17-8 to complete a doubleheader sweep.
- Easton Ross, Seton Catholic boys soccer, had three goals and an assist in a 7-0 win over Toledo.
- Nataly Andrushko, Mountain View girls tennis, won her match at No. 3 singles against Kelso 6-3, 6-2 to help clinch the 4-2 team victory.
