Letter: Enough is enough

President Donald Trump is destroying America and the values we have held dear since our founders crafted the Charters of Freedom (Declaration of Independence, Constitution and Bill of Rights) nearly 2½ centuries ago.

Government for the people by the people no longer exists. The cost of groceries has not decreased; the rule of law is under attack; court orders are being defied; due process and humaneness have been abandoned; retirement accounts are experiencing significant losses; climate change and clean air/water policies have been dismantled; and Social Security/Medicare/Medicaid are at risk.

U.S. history is being erased, and diversity, equity and inclusion policies are being banned. While cutting essential programs and services, Trump is spending millions of tax dollars on golfing trips and planning a military parade while Americans struggle. Trump, his loyalists and cronies are interested in their self-enrichment and desire to become an oligarchy.

Is this really the country we want?  It’s time members of the Republican Party acquire a spine and do the job they were elected to and to ensure democracy survives this calculated attack. It is time to use our voice and say enough is enough.
