Letter: Support students in Hockinson

By Dave Olson, Vancouver
Published: April 16, 2025, 6:00am

Every student deserves a safe school environment. Proposition 10, the School Safety & Security Capital Levy, addresses critical safety gaps at Hockinson Heights Elementary School by funding automatic lockdown capabilities, expanded fencing and upgraded security cameras and PA systems. All three schools will benefit from new emergency messaging systems.

The district listened to community feedback on the previous bond proposal and responded with a focused plan targeting our most urgent priority: Student safety. This thoughtful approach enhances security while keeping tax rates stable. Let’s secure our schools without raising taxes.
