Filing week for the August primary election starts May 5 in Clark County.

Open offices in Clark County include charter review and port commissioners, a Superior Court judge, city and town councilors, mayors and school board directors.

Filing can be done online or in person at 1408 Franklin St., Vancouver, from 8 a.m. May 5 through 5 p.m. May 9.

Candidates are encouraged to file online at VoteWA.gov. A valid email address is required to file online and candidates must be registered to vote in the jurisdiction where they want to run for office.

Shortly after 5 p.m. May 9, a public lot drawing at the Clark County Elections office will determine the ballot order for each race. The public and candidates are invited to the drawing.

Candidate filing results will be posted at clark.wa.gov/elections.

The primary is Aug. 5. The top two candidates in each race will move on to the general election, which is Nov. 4.
