ATLANTA — Atlanta R&B group TLC has developed a musical about their colorful career that will open in the District of Columbia in 2026.
“CrazySexyCool — The Musical” will debut at Arena Stage in June 2026 and run for eight weeks.
TLC’s story has been told before, including two VH1 “Behind the Music” specials, a scripted VH1 movie in 2013 and 2023 documentary “TLC Forever.” The innovative Grammy-winning group has experienced no shortage of drama, including financial problems, internal creative tensions and the 2002 death of Lisa “Left Eye” Lopes. The other two members, Rozonda “Chilli” Thomas and Tionne “T-Boz” Watkins, still tour, recording their most recent album in 2017.
We have so many stories to tell,” Thomas said at the time. “We didn’t tell it all in our biopic we did with VH1. A lot of good stuff. It’s gonna be very emotional but a good ride.”
