Letter: Nothing positive with Trump

By Ron Sturgeon, Vancouver

Apparently, no one in Trump’s administration cares about basic economics, as Trump fiddles with tariffs in an attempt to offset another round of tax cuts. The Bush and Trump tax cuts have already swelled our national debt from about $5 trillion to over $36 trillion. Trump’s proposed tax cuts will additionally bloat the debt to $42 trillion.

This insanity and the whole Trump scam confirm the Trump con is primarily about Trump and his personal fortune.

Additional tax cuts will again enrich the wealthiest 1 percent, including Trump. But debt-driven inflation, devaluing our dollar, tariff inflation and Trump’s changes to tax law wipe out any tax-cut gains and act as a tax increase for most Americans.

Donald Trump governs like a dog chasing his tail. There is a lot of activity, but nothing positive happens.
