Vancouver is now home to one more fast food restaurant. Habit Burger & Grill opened to the public Wednesday.
The Santa Barbara, Calif., burger joint took over what was previously a Burgerville at 8320 N.E. Vancouver Plaza Drive.
The restaurant will be open 10:30 a.m. to 10 p.m. daily, according to a news release from the company.
“We’re fired up to bring our chargrilled burgers, stacked sandwiches and all the flavor-packed sides you can handle to the good people of Vancouver,” said Jason Triail, executive chef at Habit Burger & Grill, in the news release.
The Vancouver restaurant incorporates a mobile pickup lane, where guests can pick up food they ordered ahead through Habit’s mobile app, rather than a drive-thru.
The 2,570-square-foot restaurant will also offer dine-in, takeout and delivery.
Habit operates nearly 400 restaurants around the country. Fourteen others are in Washington, mostly around Puget Sound. This will be the first location in the Portland metro area.
Habit, launched in 1969 but purchased by Yum! Brands in 2020, specializes in chargrilled burgers and sandwiches. Yum! Brands also owns KFC, Pizza Hut and Taco Bell.
Habit is one of several California brands that have or are moving into the area. Mountain Mike’s Pizza expects to open several locations in Vancouver, Dave’s Hot Chicken opened in Hazel Dell last year and the area’s first highly anticipated In-N-Out Burger is expected to open this summer.
