Nominees for The Columbian 2024-25 Week 16 prep athlete of the week

Athletes from Evergreen, Columbia River, Camas, Seton Catholic and Ridgefield

Here are the nominees for The Columbian 2024-25 Week 16 high school athlete of the week, sponsored by Killer Burger.

Voting will continue until 7 p.m. Wednesday.

To avoid vote manipulation, participants are being asked to log-in with their Columbian.com account or to sign-up for a free account before casting a vote.

Nominees are selected by The Columbian staff after a review of the previous week’s results. Suggestions for nominees can by made by anyone, but must be received by 6 p.m. Sunday for consideration.

Winners of the athlete-of-the-week may not be nominated again during the regular season, and no athlete may be nominated in consecutive weeks.

Nominees are posted and voting begins each Monday and runs through Wednesday.

Here are the nominees:

ALISSA BARBER, EVERGREEN GIRLS BOWLING: Barber won the 3A district championship by bowling a three-game series of 631, leading Evergreen to the team title.

AALIYAH BOOTH, COLUMBIA RIVER GIRLS WRESTLING: The sophomore won three matches, two by fall, to win the 155-pound title at the Lumberjill Classic in Longview.

RAFA LAVAGNINO, CAMAS BOYS SWIMMING: The junior led Camas to the team title at the Southwest Washington Invite with a win in the 200 individual medley and aiding a win in the 400 free relay.

MADISON LEE, SETON CATHOLIC GIRLS BASKETBALL: The junior led the offense with 22 points and 15 points in two leagues as the Cougars clinched a share of the Trico League title.

JAMISON MCCANN, RIDGEFIELD BOYS BASKETBALL: The junior scored 31 points and 34 points in a pair of league wins as the Spudders clinched a district playoff berth.
