A Ridgefield man is facing a second robbery charge after investigators say they connected him to a Jan. 10 robbery at a credit union in Battle Ground.

Vancouver police previously arrested Ryan Frisbie, 46, on Jan. 24 on suspicion of first-degree robbery in connection with a Dec. 21 robbery at an east Vancouver Bank of America branch.

Battle Ground police responded to a robbery at the iQ Credit Union at 1810 S.W. Ninth Ave. An employee told officers a man approached his station with a cash bag and slid a note across the counter. The teller said the note said something like, “Give me all your money” and demanded the money not include anti-theft technology, such as dye packs or trackers, according to a probable cause affidavit filed in Clark County Superior Court.

The teller said he gave the man $300, and the man left. The teller said the interaction lasted about 90 seconds, and he gave police a description of the robber, court records state.

Battle Ground police put out a notice about the robber to area law enforcement. A Vancouver police detective reached out to notify Battle Ground police they had arrested Frisbie, and they thought he could have been involved in the Battle Ground robbery. Investigators determined the suspect in both robberies handed over similar notes and carried similar bank bags, the affidavit states.

Battle Ground police rebooked Frisbie into the Clark County Jail on suspicion of an additional count of first-degree robbery. He appeared in Superior Court on the allegation Friday. He is being held without bail until his next hearing, which is scheduled for Wednesday, for a judge to enter an order to have his mental competency evaluated, court records show.

Vancouver police previously said Frisbie is also suspected in at least two other Portland-area robberies, according to the police department.
