VANCOUVER – NW Natural recently delivered breakfast and lunch items to Council for the Homeless to share with people experiencing homelessness in Clark County.

NW Natural’s catering team prepared a light breakfast and lunch – enough to feed 500 attendees at the Council’s Project Homeless Connect event on Thursday, Jan. 30. Every January, the Council for the Homeless hosts an event bringing together volunteers, community-based organizations, and service providers. People experiencing homelessness can get a meal, vision and foot care, housing assistance, health care for pets, winter clothing and supplies, and opportunities to sign up for public assistance. This year’s event was held at New Life Recovery Services in Vancouver.

“Council for the Homeless has been the cornerstone of Clark County’s homeless crisis response system for over 30 years, and the Project Homeless Connect is an important event – both for providing needed support and to conduct the annual count of people experiencing homelessness in the county,” said Nelson Holmberg, NW Natural’s community affairs and customer acquisition manager in Clark County. “By providing meals for people in attendance, we’re able to fulfill a basic human need and support an important community organization.”
